Updates on the United States Semiquincentennial Commission

USA250 congratulates the appointed leadership of the United States Semiquincentennial Commission.

The Commission was established by Public Law 114-196, a bipartisan act passed unanimously by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in July 2016. Commissioner Daniel M. DiLella, of Pennsylvania, was designated by President Trump as the body’s Chairperson this month. The Commission’s meetings will be convened at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

We congratulate the eight Members of Congress and sixteen private citizens appointed by Congress, alongside nine ex officio federal officials, who serve as Commission members. We congratulate Frank Giordano on his appointment as the body’s Executive Director, and American Battlefield Trust upon their selection as Administrative Secretariat of the Commission.
