Jon Grabelle Herrmann
From 2001-2010, Jon was the founding executive director of Campus Philly, the regional initiative to engage and retain college graduates to live and work in Greater Philadelphia after completing their studies. Most recently, he served as southeast director for the Pre-K for PA campaign, advocating for expanded state investment in early learning in coalition with United Way of Greater Philadelphia, Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children, and Public Citizens for Children and Youth. He recently served as a member of PhillyCORE Leaders, has served on the boards of the West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance/ Paul Robeson House and Union Benevolent Association, and was a member of the Philadelphia Children’s Commission under Mayor Street. He was named 40 under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal, a 101 Top Connector by Leadership Philadelphia, and one of the Philadelphia Eagles/ Dunkin’ Donuts “75 Greatest Living Philadelphians.” After living in West Philadelphia for nearly twenty years, Jon recently moved to New York City with his two children and wife, Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann, who recently began serving in a new pulpit position as rabbi of The Society for the Advancement of Judaism. Jon is in Philadelphia on a weekly basis, and the Grabelle Herrmann family has committed to remaining fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and never, ever rooting for the New York Mets.
