Rosalyn McPherson is President and Founder of The ROZ Group, Inc. Highly regarded as a natural cross-pollinator, builder of strategic relationships, and cross-cultural content enthusiast, she leads her company in providing exhibit development, strategic marketing and communications, custom publishing, and project management to corporations, governmental agencies, and non-profit institutions The team is particularly adept at community engagement and public input, creating opportunities for people to give voice to the important issues that affect their lives.
The ROZ Group oversaw the construction of two major complex historic projects from concept development to ribbon-cutting: The President’s House: Freedom and Slavery in Making a New Nation, adjacent to the Liberty Bell Pavilion at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia and Audacious Freedom: The History of African Americans in Philadelphia through 1876 at The African American Museum in Philadelphia. Her team conducted project management for the Health Enterprise Zone (HEZ), an initiative of the Commonwealth to examine health practices and emergency room usage in North Philadelphia.
From 2014 – 2016, Roz served as President & CEO of the Urban League of Philadelphia. In this position, she advocated for important issues related to education, social justice, and voting rights. She also delved deeply into the complex aspects of workforce development and job training.
Prior to launching her firm, Roz had a distinguished career in marketing and educational product development and subsequently museum administration. She served as Senior Vice President for the Science Center at the Franklin Institute (Philadelphia, PA). She had day-to-day responsibility for increasing attendance and managing the visitor experience aspects of the museum’s operation. Box office, IMAX Theater, the Fels Planetarium, retail, exhibit development, and marketing were all part of her responsibility.
As Senior Vice President and Publisher for Time Life Education (Alexandria, VA), Roz was responsible for assembling and managing a national sales force of 36 staff and independent associates and for launching K-12 product development. Time, Inc., McGraw Hill, Inc., Scholastic Inc., and CBS, Inc. are among the other major publishers where Roz worked as both an editor and marketer of educational products.
Roz entered the workforce as a teacher of social studies and mathematics at Roosevelt Jr. Sr. High School in Roosevelt, NY. She has taught marketing and sales courses at Rutgers University in both Piscataway and Camden, New Jersey. Roz has an MBA degree in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ) and a BS degree in Secondary Education from Southern University & A&M College (Baton Rouge, LA).
