Since 2011, Zabeth Teelucksingh has served as Executive Director of the Global Philadelphia Association, a nonprofit designed to put Philadelphia on the map as a city of global importance. GPA led the initiative for Philadelphia to become the first U.S. member of the Organization of World Heritage cities. Under her leadership, the Association has developed multiple programs, including GlobalPhilly™ – the first ever international Expo in Philadelphia, GlobalKids, PhillyThinks, EIJP (a global journalism program), a robust internship program for millennials and the #IamaGlobalPhiladelphian awareness campaign. Zabeth also contributes her talent and energy to Friends of Independence Hall, Philadelphia Accueil, and Women for Greater Philadelphia. She is a member of the Advancement Committee for Saint James School in West Alleghany. A GPLEX alumni twice (2012 Toronto, 2014 Boston), she serves on the Board of the Alliance Francaise de Philadelphie, USA250, U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Pennsylvania Advisory Committee and the Temple Fox School CIBER Board. She is an advisor to @GoUNSECO – Make Heritage Fun! Zabeth previously served in several international roles in the U.S. and in Europe in fields ranging from education to publishing, healthcare to water, energy to IT and world heritage. Prior professional appointments includes six years of marketing for Time, Inc. in Paris, six years as Marketing Director at the World Congress, in Boston, and several years in advertising with J. Walter Thomson in Greater Miami. Born in Carthage, Tunisia, Zabeth was schooled in the UK where she attended boarding school and the French Lycee in London, and later graduated from Lancaster University. Zabeth has lived in 6 countries and is a citizen of both France and the US. She is fluent in English and French, proficient in Spanish and Arabic, and has working knowledge of Hindi and Italian. She lives in Merion Station, PA with her husband Ken, daughter Emma and mini-dachshund Lily.
